Ornat was founded in 1990 by Yossi Friedlander (Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Weizmann Institute) and Ran Lev (M.Sc. in Microbiology and Immunology, Hebrew University of Jerusalem). It is a privately owned company that established itself in the local market as a leading exclusive distributor of major manufacturers of laboratory research reagents, instruments and consumables in a variety of life sciences domains, including genomics, proteomics and cell biology.

Ornat meets quality management system standards and since 2001 has been ISO 9001:2015 certified.

Ornat is located in the city of Rehovot near the heart of Israel’s life science center.
